I Called You A Fool *** I’ll Kill You: A burglar tries to steal a woman

Video released Thursday shows a young off-duty Chicago police officer killing a violent robber who tried to steal his gun. The incident happened last month in Washington Heights on the South Side.

After helping break up a fight with the robber outside his apartment building, the video shows the officer walking away as the robber sneaks up behind him and grabs his gun.

He screamed and killed his attacker before firing two shots to free himself.

The mugger goes “You got me, you got me” but doesn’t break away. The young woman then fired a third shot.

“I called you dumb *** I’ll kill you!” The officer yelled as he fired what ended up being the fatal shot.

The thief whispers: “Please baby, I’m sorry. I don’t want to die.”

The woman then shouted for uniformed police to arrive at the scene.

Watch:

The robber succumbed to his gunshot wounds at a local hospital. The female officer was treated for injuries above her eye.

Just before Crook died, he faced charges of battery and attempted robbery. He had no business walking the streets in the first place.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported Thursday:

An off-duty Chicago police officer yelled “I’m going to kill you” before fatally shooting a man who grabbed his gun during a struggle on the South Side in Washington Heights last month, video released Thursday shows.

Civilian surveillance footage, released by the Civilian Office of Police Accountability, initially shows Levon Smith arguing with a group of people in the 1300 block of West 90th Street on Jan. 18 just before 1 p.m.

The off-duty officer eventually left an apartment building, tried to defuse the dispute and asked those involved to “calm down.” The other men leave, but Smith sticks around and talks to the officer for a minute.

As he turns toward the apartment building, the video shows Smith reaching for the officer’s handgun, starting a struggle.

“I’m going to kill you,” the officer yelled before firing two shots.

“Got me. You got me,” Smith said.

“I told you dumbass—I’m going to kill you,” the officer said as he fired the third shot.

“I’m sorry, kid,” Smith replied. “I’m sorry. … I don’t want to die.”

The officer then yelled for someone to call the police while Smith continued to scream.

An arrest report shows police told responding officers that the shots were fired after he witnessed “a verbal argument.” He said Smith grabbed him from behind and reached for his gun “in an attempt to disarm him.”

He and Smith eventually fell to the ground while struggling for the gun, the report said. The officer then fired, hitting Smith in the abdomen and left arm. Smith was taken into custody and brought to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead on Jan. 20.

A tactical response report said Smith made an “imminent threat of battery” without a weapon and physically assaulted the officer. It also claims that he was ambushed with “no warning” and a total of three shots were fired.

The officer was treated for a laceration above his right eye at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, according to the arrest report.

A day before Smith died, Cook County prosecutors approved felony charges against him, arrest reports show. He faces counts of attempted robbery and aggravated battery, but the charges do not appear in county court records.

Smith’s estate filed a lawsuit against the city and the officer on Feb. 3, pushing for a $10 million judgment.

One can only hope a Chicago jury isn’t dumb enough to award a dime to the family of this dead low-life. The only action required is a medal for a young female officer who gallantly defended herself.
