The Daily Mail reported:
The Chinese spy balloon was 200 feet tall, weighed thousands of pounds and had a payload the size of a jetliner, a top Pentagon official said Monday.
US Northern Command Commander Air Force General Glenn D. VanHark revealed new details about the downed balloon in a call with reporters Monday.
His statement followed a briefing by National Security Council spokesman John Kirby, who defended President Joe Biden’s decision to wait and fire on the Chinese vessel until it was over the South Carolina coastline on Saturday.
‘Because the president decided they weren’t going to launch it until he could do it safely, and that meant above water, which gave us a great opportunity to study, to better understand, the capabilities of this balloon,’ he told reporters. mail
