An 18-inch pipe bomb was found on train tracks behind St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon.

Philadelphia police are investigating after a pipe bomb was discovered behind a church in Holmesburg.
An 18-inch pipe bomb was found behind St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in the 8500 block of Frankford Avenue in the Holmesburg section of Philadelphia, just after 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Philadelphia police sources told FOX 29.
Officials said a passerby found the pipe bomb and noticed it was a PVC pipe with black powder on it.
Police closed Frankford Avenue between Benson and Blakiston while the Philadelphia Police bomb squad was called to the scene.
The bomb squad safely moved the pipe bomb out of harm’s way.
