Michigan Democrats are rushing to pass new gun control laws after the state of Michigan

Every time there is a shooting, Democrats rush to infringe on the rights of law-abiding citizens who didn’t.

The Michigan State University shooting is no different.

And as Michigan Democrats gain more power in the 2022 midterms, they plan to use it.

Michigan Democrats Move to Accelerate New Gun Laws After MSU Shooting

Michigan Democrats are pushing for new gun control legislation after the mass shooting at Michigan State University.

Democrats won two state legislatures in the 2022 midterm elections, controlling three of their state’s most powerful seats. Govt. Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) also won re-election.

The party now has an opportunity to push through gun control legislation that has been stonewalled by hesitant Republicans. Monday’s mass shooting at Michigan State University gives them an opportunity to rush legislation through the legislature.

“We will try to move quickly. After years of not getting an inch, now we have a real plan,” Democratic state Sen. Rosemary Baer told Politico.

“Some of our laws go back 10 years,” he added. “We haven’t been able to get any traction to do anything.”

He went on to give a timetable for the new law, but said the party should act first.

“We had a schedule that we were trying to get ahead of. We were targeting just after the first week of April, that’s what we were planning, but we wanted to respond quickly,” Baier said.

All the usual suspects are calling for more gun control.

The left uses tragedies to try to take away people’s rights. Boring.
