Ted Cruz, Joe Manchin Introduce Bipartisan Bill Blocking Biden Ban on Gas Stoves

Senators Ted Cruz and Joe Manchin have teamed up to introduce legislation that would block the Biden administration from enacting a ban on gas stoves.

The Gas Stove Safety and Freedom Act It would effectively block the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) from banning gas stoves or using federal funds to significantly increase the price of such appliances.

“Make no mistake, radical environmentalists want to stop Americans from using natural gas,” Cruz said while introducing the legislation.

“The Consumer Product Safety Commission’s proposed ban on gas stoves is the latest scaremongering by the far left and their Biden administration allies.”

The CPSC, Bloomberg News reported last month, said a potential ban “is on the table amid growing concerns about harmful indoor air pollution emitted by the appliances.”

Manchin, Cruz fight gas stove ban

Jenny Beth Martin of RealClearPolitics reports that Democrats and radical environmentalists are “definitely coming for our gas stoves.”

“Just as they came before them for our dishwashers, our shower heads, our toilets and our gasoline-powered cars,” he wrote.

Notably, ever since word got out that the Biden administration was indeed considering such a ban, Democrats have effectively derided the idea as some sort of conspiracy theory.

“First you have to laugh at the ‘gas stove ban’ narrative cooked up by the MAGA GOP,” Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said recently.

And yet, here Cruz (R-TX) and Schumer’s colleague Manchin (D-WV) are taking steps to stop any such efforts.

“The federal government has no business telling American families how to cook their dinner, which is why Senator Cruz and I have introduced bipartisan legislation to make sure Americans know how to cook in their own homes,” Manchin declared.

“I can tell you the last thing that will leave our homes is the gas stove we cook on, and I will continue to fight any abuse by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.”

By Schumer’s standards, Manchin is now a MAGA Republican hatching gas stove conspiracies.

The White House has denied sanctions are coming

White House press secretary Karin Jean-Pierre has insisted that President Biden has no intention of supporting a gas stove ban.

“The president does not support banning gas stoves,” Jean-Pierre said at a news conference last month. “And the Consumer Product Safety Commission, which is independent, is not banning gas stoves. So, I just want to be very clear about that.”

Of course, a Biden’s words and the information a press secretary is releasing to the public is about as valuable as anything the media tells you these days.

Which is to say, it’s worthless. And of course, the media claims that the denials are the real truth, while the Bloomberg report and internal memos are lies.

Despite their public denials, an internal memo written by CPSC Commissioner Richard Trumka Jr. betrays their actively hidden motives.

“The need to regulate gas stoves has reached a boiling point,” Trumka wrote.

He would later add, “The CPSC has enough data available to issue an NPR in fiscal year 2023 that proposes to ban gas stoves in homes.”

Once word got out, Trumka That tweet The CPSC is “not coming for anyone’s gas stove” and that “the rules apply to new products.”

The Department of Energy (DOE) has already issued a new proposed regulation last week to implement new efficiency standards for gas and electric cooktops and ovens.

“The Energy Department has proposed new efficiency standards that would ban the sale of most gas stoves currently on the market,” the Wall Street Journal reported late last week.

A ban on gas stoves sounds like something you read about in Babylon B, but history suggests something that seems so absurd is almost certainly already on the table even for the Biden administration.

There is no extreme measure that they will not consider in controlling your life.
