Full disclosure — Sy Hersh is an old friend in every sense of that expression. We first met in September 1981 when he accepted my invitation to speak to a group of Washington semester students at American University. During our introductory chat we discovered that we each had a son named Josh who was born that year. We stayed in touch over the years and Sy became my golf partner. He is now close to 86 years old on this earth but hits the golf ball like a 60 year old. He is also a tennis fan. His talent as an athlete is less than his talent as an investigative journalist.
SI is also living proof of the decline of the field of investigative journalism. Ten years ago his last piece appeared on the front page of The New Yorker magazine or The New York Times. That is no longer the case. Sy is an outsider because he won’t give in to Deep State coercion to lie to protect base corruption in Washington, DC and Wall Street.

Last June, Navy divers, under the cover of a widely publicized mid-summer NATO exercise known as BALTOPS 22, planted remotely triggered explosives that, three months later, destroyed three of the four Nord Stream pipelines, according to a source with direct knowledge of the operational plan. . . .
There was an important bureaucratic reason for relying on graduates of the center’s hardcore diving school in Panama City. The divers were only Navy, and not members of America’s Special Operations Command, whose covert operations must be reported to Congress and notified in advance to the Senate and House leadership—the so-called Gang of Eight. The Biden administration was doing everything possible to avoid leaks as the plan took place in late 2021 and the first months of 2022.
I don’t know if this article will ignite a firestorm in the US, but it might light the fuse for a political explosion in Germany. The German people now face the question—are they the prison dogs of the United States? The Biden administration’s decision to destroy the Nord Stream pipeline, in addition to acts of war against Russia, was a direct attack on the German economy and the German people. How many businesses have been closed as a result of this attack? How many Germans died as a result of the economic depression?
Thank God people like Sy Hersh are still willing to tell uncomfortable truths. The future of mankind is at stake in this case, and Sy’s latest revelation may help us steer clear of nuclear war.
