In September 2022, three deep-water explosions under the Baltic Sea destroyed the Nord Stream pipelines.
Swedish seismologists reported that one of the three explosions measured 2.3 on the Richter scale, but was not an earthquake. It was an explosion – like a huge underground mine.
The explosions guarantee that Germany and the EU will not budge on sanctions against Russian energy imports. Repairing the damage to the pipeline will take months, and repairs aren’t likely to begin until this summer. Even if Germany cries “uncle” as civil unrest intensifies due to heat and energy shortages, even if Russia decides to return energy, the pipeline of Russian gas to Europe is broken.

No country has claimed responsibility for the explosion that carried the Nord Stream pipelines to Europe.
Germany released its disaster study this week. Investigators have concluded that there is no evidence that Russia was behind the explosions at the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines.
A government with an advanced naval capability could only carry out sabotage. This limits the suspects to Germany, Great Britain, France, the United States and China.

Is the United States able to commit a high crime in the Baltic Sea?
According to the Daily Mail and Seymour Substack on Wednesday, a bombshell report revealed that President Joe Biden personally oversaw a secret mission in which a special US Navy diver crew bombed the underwater Nord Stream pipelines.
The report claims that in June 2022, Navy divers planted C4 explosives in three Nord Stream pipes and three months later, they were detonated by a gold buoy that emitted a signal that triggered the bombs.
“The best divers with deep diving qualifications are a tight-knit community, and only the best are recruited for operations and told to be ready to be summoned to the CIA in Washington,” the source told Seymour Hersh.
“The Norwegians joined the Americans in informing some senior officials in Denmark and Sweden in general about possible diving activity in the area. Thus, someone higher up can intervene and place a report outside the chain of command, thus inhibiting pipeline operations. “What they were told and what they knew were objectively different,” the source told me. (The Norwegian embassy, when asked to comment on this story, did not respond.),” Hersh added.

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh’s sensational report, published in his substack, cites a source with ‘direct knowledge of the operational plans’ behind the alleged plot. The White House and the CIA on Wednesday dismissed the report as ‘complete fiction’.
The Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines were sabotaged by a bomb on 26 September 2022 in an attack that, apparently, continues to confuse investigators. Although analysts say the immediate impact of the attack was ‘limited’ – because the pipelines were not fully operational – the geopolitical consequences were huge.
In a 5,000-word report about the alleged attack, Hersh claimed that the explosives were planted by diving experts trained at the US Navy Diving and Salvage Center in Florida.
The divers reportedly carried out the secretive and high-risk operation during BALTOPS22, a series of military exercises in the Baltic Sea conducted by 16 NATO countries. US divers reportedly used the highly-publicized, 13-day event in June 2022 as cover for their top-secret mission.
The C4 explosives attached to the pipelines were fitted with sensors that enabled them to be detonated remotely at a later date, Hersh reported.
Hersh reported that the explosion was triggered by a gold buoy falling from an airplane. The buoy emitted a sequence of ‘unique low frequency tonal sounds’, which triggered C4, compared to sounds produced by a flute or piano.
A White House spokesman called the report ‘false and complete fiction’. A CIA spokesman said: ‘This claim is completely and utterly false.’
In February, Biden said the US would ‘terminate’ Nord Stream if Russia invaded Ukraine. At a joint press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Biden said: ‘If Russia attacks… there will be a longer Nord Stream 2. We will put an end to this.’
Asked how he would do that, the president cryptically replied: ‘I promise you we will be able to do it.’
The press conference was held as Russia was deploying tens of thousands of troops to its border with Ukraine, in preparation for an invasion that began weeks later, on February 24.
