Even Democrats are bailing: 88% think Biden should not be their leader

Even Democrats don’t want Biden to lead their party.

An AP-NORC poll found that only 12% of Democrats said they want Biden to lead their party.

Even though he is president, only 41% see him as the current leader of the party.

Conservative Brief Report:

Nearly nine in 10 Democratic voters polled in a survey released Friday said they believe President Joe Biden should not lead the party, while many party leaders now admit he is too old to run for re-election in 2024.

The AP-NORC poll asked: “Who will lead the Democratic Party?” Only 12 percent said it should be Biden.

According to the AP-NORC poll, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) all received 5% of possible answers, including seven options.

Embattled Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) each received 3%. The highest number of responses, however, were “no answer” and “other response”, which came in at 37% and 21%, respectively.

A previous poll found that only 37% of Democrats want Biden for a second term.

News Nation reported:

A previous AP-NORC poll from January revealed that a majority of Democrats think one term is enough for Biden, despite his insistence that he plans to seek re-election in 2024. The results showed only 37% of Democrats said they wanted him to seek a second term. term, down from 52% in the weeks leading up to last year’s midterm elections.

Follow-up interviews with poll respondents suggested that many believe turning 80 is a liability, with people focusing on his coughing, walking, fumbling and the possibility that the world’s most stressful job might be better suited to someone younger.

Some allies see Biden’s missteps as growing weakness in the eyes of voters as he grows older.
